Newbility Selected for Japanese Startup Incubation Program
'Up by Shibuya Startup Support' Community Members
Support for Corporate Establishment, Office Space, Recruitment, Partnerships, Demonstrations, and Promotion
Newbility, an indoor and outdoor autonomous driving robot service platform led by CEO Sangmin Lee, announced on the 8th that it has been selected as a community member of the global startup nurturing program "UP by Shibuya Startup Support" in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.
Shibuya Startup Support Co., Ltd., established in February 2023 with the aim of creating an international startup community in Shibuya Ward, is a joint venture funded by Tokyu, which operates businesses such as Tokyo Metro, real estate, hotels, and department stores, and GMO Internet Group, a leading Japanese IT company.
The "UP Program" operated by Shibuya Startup Support helps global startups that provide innovative solutions in key Japanese sectors such as the aging society, animation, games, content IP (intellectual property), disaster prevention systems, fashion, and street culture to enter and grow in the Japanese market. Startups selected as community members receive essential support for establishing a stable local business environment in collaboration with Shibuya Ward, including visa issuance, corporate establishment, office space, business strategy, partnerships, demonstrations, recruitment, and publicity. Currently, about 20 global startups, including Newbility, have been selected as community members of the UP Program.
Having been exploring new opportunities in the Japanese delivery robot market following its domestic activities, Newbility plans to accelerate preparations for local market entry based on this selection. Recently, it participated in "iREX 2023," Japan's largest robot specialized exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight, where it sought potential partners to develop local sales channels and explored possibilities for entering the Japanese market.
