Yongin-si Awarded 'Encouragement' in Excellent Local Government Evaluation for Structural Reform
Secured Special Grant of 250 Million Won
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that it was selected in the basic local government encouragement category in this year's 'Local Public Institution Structural Reform Innovation Excellent Local Government Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Accordingly, the city will receive a special grant of 250 million KRW from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This evaluation is promoted as part of the national agenda for local public institution innovation, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety selects 20 outstanding local governments with high structural reform performance to support a total of 10 billion KRW in special grants.
In this year's evaluation, after assessing indicators such as participation in national policies, plan appropriateness, implementation, and effectiveness, as well as evaluations by external judges, 8 metropolitan local governments and 12 basic local governments were selected as excellent local governments.
The city explained that it received recognition for improving operational efficiency through reforms on 11 tasks across 7 institutions, including abolishing or reorganizing three non-core projects such as the operation of the Media Center by the Yongin Cultural Foundation and abolishing three projects with minimal effects among the Yongin City Volunteer Center projects.
