Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation Reports Over 20,000 Cases of Digital Sexual Exploitation Material Confirmed in 3 Years
The Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation has reported achievements in identifying and reporting over 20,000 cases of sexual exploitation materials over the past three years since 2021.
On the 7th, the Gyeonggi-do Digital Sexual Crime Victim One-Stop Support Center, operated by the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation, held the "Three-Year Performance Report Meeting of the Gyeonggi-do Residents' Response Monitoring Group for the Eradication of Digital Sexual Crimes" at the center.
At the meeting, the center announced that the monitoring group, which began activities in 2021, had identified and reported over 20,000 digital sexual exploitation materials on social networking services (SNS) by 2023.
The monitoring group also participated annually in campaigns to eradicate digital sexual crimes and created the slogan "WWW (Whenever, Wherever, Watchdog)" to emphasize that the monitoring group is active anytime and anywhere.
Kim Hye-sun, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation, stated, "We are well aware of the stress experienced by monitoring group members each time they report digital sexual exploitation materials online," and evaluated that "the three years of activities by the residents' response monitoring group contributed to strengthening the response capabilities against digital sexual crimes within the province."
