Changwon Special City, '2024 New Year Wish Light Festival' ... Bringing Comfort and Hope to Citizens
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 2024 New Year Wish Light Street Lighting Ceremony, organized by the Changwon Branch of the Korea Fine Arts Association and sponsored by the city, successfully at the Maple Street in the central plaza of Seongsan Art Hall.
The lighting ceremony, held on the afternoon of the 6th, was attended by Jo Myeong-rae, the 2nd Deputy Mayor of Changwon, who gave a congratulatory speech and shared warm wishes with the citizens.
This year’s ‘2024 New Year Wish Light Street Festival’ features events such as the 2024 Gapjin Year Dragon symbol sculpture, an exhibition of works by artists with disabilities, and making heart-shaped New Year wish messages. The festival aims to convey hope and comfort to citizens through various colorful and radiant light sculptures.
Deputy Mayor Jo said, “The New Year Wish Light Street Festival is an event that allows people to feel the excitement of the coming year while wrapping up the past year through beautiful light sculptures. I hope these light street sculptures will comfort citizens’ weary daily lives and bring new hope.”

The 2024 New Year Wish Light Street Festival will welcome citizens with beautifully illuminated sculptures along the tree-lined streets of Seongsan Art Hall from the lighting ceremony on the 6th until January 4, 2024.
