Assemblyman Lee Byung-hoon Secures 2 Billion KRW Special Local Tax for Improving Residents' Quality of Life
Assemblyman Lee Byung-hoon (The Democratic Party of Korea·Gwangju Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul) announced on the 4th that he secured a total of 2 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of 2023, with 1.2 billion KRW for three projects in Dong-gu and 800 million KRW for two projects in Nam-gu.
Specifically, ▲ 400 million KRW for the creation of a complex cultural space in Pureungil Park ▲ 400 million KRW for the urban "Walkable Street Creation" project ▲ 400 million KRW for the maintenance of small-scale hazardous facilities in Secheon, including Wolnam-dong ▲ 500 million KRW for the establishment of a time post office in Sajik-dong ▲ 300 million KRW for the repair and reinforcement of aging facilities on Gwangju Bridge.
This time, the "Walkable Street" creation project, the Pureungil Park complex cultural space creation project, and the Sajik-dong time post office establishment project are expected to gain momentum in promoting urgent projects in Dong-gu and Nam-gu aimed at enhancing residents' leisure and cultural life.
Additionally, with the budget secured for the repair and reinforcement of aging facilities on Gwangju Bridge and the maintenance of small-scale hazardous facilities in Secheon, including Wolnam-dong, it will be possible to proactively eliminate risk factors threatening safety in daily life, thereby preventing residents from safety accidents and contributing to the creation of a pleasant living environment.

Assemblyman Lee said, "I expect that the special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety secured this time will be used appropriately to make Dong-gu and Nam-gu better places to live and safer," adding, "I will continue to do my best in legislative activities to resolve residents' inconveniences and improve their quality of life."
