The world's largest fast-food chain, McDonald's, is on the verge of opening a new packaging-order-only restaurant that it has been secretly developing.
On the 1st (local time), according to local media in Chicago, USA, McDonald's new concept restaurant chain, 'CosMc's,' is reportedly in the final stages of preparation for its opening.

Business Insider reported that the first CosMc's store has installed a signboard in blue-purple and yellow colors on a building in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, featuring at least four drive-thru-only lanes.
Chris Kempczinski, CEO of McDonald's, announced last July that they are planning to establish a delivery-specialized company under the brand name 'CosMc,' inspired by the alien character 'CosMc' featured in McDonald's advertisements in the late 1980s. Taking advantage of the increase in consumers choosing takeout and delivery in the U.S. due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to boldly reduce in-store seating and focus on packaging orders.
Kempczinski said, "CosMc's will be a small-scale store that retains all of McDonald's DNA while having its own unique characteristics. We plan to open stores in a select few areas early next year and conduct pilot operations."
Most specific information about CosMc's has been kept confidential. McDonald's plans to release more information by the end of this month.
McDonald's opened its first store in 1955 in Des Plaines near Chicago and currently operates about 13,000 stores in the U.S. and around 40,000 stores worldwide.
