Lee Dong-gwan's Resignation Announcement... Kim Yong-min Calls It "A Legal Technicians' Mindset"
Lee Kyung "A Strong Democratic Party That Works"
As the Democratic Party of Korea pushed forward with the impeachment motion against Lee Dong-gwan, Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, it was revealed that Lee had tendered his resignation before the impeachment motion was processed. In response, Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong-min expressed his outrage, calling it a "thought process typical of legal technicians."
On the 1st, Kim posted on his social media, "The president should not accept the resignation and should wait for the decision of the National Assembly," adding, "This administration blatantly shows its greed for media control."
Lee Kyung, the Democratic Party's full-time deputy spokesperson, wrote on social media, "Chairman Lee Dong-gwan expressed his intention to resign ahead of the impeachment vote," and called it a "strong and working Democratic Party."
The Democratic Party reported the impeachment motion against Lee Dong-gwan to the plenary session the previous day. The impeachment motion must be voted on between 24 and 72 hours after being reported to the plenary session.
