President Yoon Suk-yeol replaced all senior secretaries at the Presidential Office on the 30th. Han Oh-seop, Director of the National Situation Room, was promoted and appointed as Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, and Lee Do-woon, spokesperson, was promoted and appointed as Senior Secretary for Public Relations. Hwang Sang-mu, former KBS anchor, was appointed as Senior Secretary for Civil Society, Park Chun-seop, a member of the Bank of Korea’s Monetary Policy Committee, as Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs, and Jang Sang-yoon, Deputy Minister of Education, as Senior Secretary for Social Affairs.
Kim Dae-gi, Chief Secretary of the Presidential Office, announced the personnel reshuffle results at the Yongsan Presidential Office in the afternoon. They will begin their terms on the 4th.
Newly appointed Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs is Park Chun-seop, member of the Bank of Korea’s Monetary Policy Committee, and Senior Secretary for Social Affairs is Jang Sang-yoon, Deputy Minister of Education. The new Senior Secretary for Civil Society is Hwang Sang-mu, former KBS anchor. The new Senior Secretary for Political Affairs is Han Oh-seop, Director of the Presidential Office’s National Situation Room, and the new Senior Secretary for Public Relations is Lee Do-woon, spokesperson of the Presidential Office, both promoted internally.
Earlier that morning, President Yoon established a new Policy Office at the Presidential Office and promoted Lee Gwan-seop, Senior Secretary for National Planning, to head it. Chief Secretary Kim evaluated the new Policy Office head appointment, saying, "Director Lee has demonstrated outstanding policy planning and coordination skills, successfully resolving major issues. He has deep insight into overall state affairs and is the right person to drive national tasks forward with strong communication with various stakeholders." The new Policy Office head stated, "I will prioritize price stabilization and mobilize all available policies to achieve price stability."

However, the newly established Senior Secretary for Science and Technology was not included in the personnel announcement. A senior official at the Presidential Office explained, "Although we have decided to form the Science and Technology Senior Secretary Office, it will take time to appoint someone. Nevertheless, we plan to establish it within this year or early next year."
