Busan Port Authority Selected as the Top Port Operation Innovation Institution for Two Consecutive Years
Busan Port Authority (BPA) was selected as the Best Innovation Institution for two consecutive years at the ‘2023 Port Operation and Security Innovation Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries on the 28th.
Since 2004, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has been discovering and awarding best practices annually across all port operation institutions in Korea, including regional maritime offices and port authorities nationwide.
In 2022, Busan Port Authority was recognized as the best institution for its contribution to preventing a nationwide logistics paralysis during the Cargo Solidarity strike by reorganizing the operation system to transport cargo through fences between piers.
This year, BPA was again selected as the best port operation innovation institution for two consecutive years for its efforts in creating an ecosystem that enabled the development and introduction of domestically produced cargo handling equipment based on local manufacturing technology in a market dominated by foreign products, thereby contributing to the creation of quality jobs and reduction of carbon emissions.
