Smilegate invests in 'Control Nine'... New publishing contract signed
Smilegate announced on the 30th that it has made a strategic investment in Control Nine, a newly established developer composed of key members who developed NIKKE, Lineage M, and Seven Knights 2. They also signed a publishing contract for 'Project TT' (tentative title), a collectible turn-based role-playing game (RPG) developed by Control Nine.
Control Nine is a development company founded around former Seven Knights 2 PD Jo Soon-gu and former Lineage M director Kwon Se-woong. Art director Kim Hyung-seop (Hyeolla), who has a strong fan base, joined the team, making the company recognized for its development capabilities, success know-how, and loyal enthusiast community.
Project TT is a game that pursues changes in the established collectible turn-based RPG conventions, led by a new concept battle system. It is expected to lead a new genre by applying art featuring the unique style of AD Kim Hyung-seop.
Through this investment, Smilegate has securely acquired high-level Japanese animation-style intellectual property (IP). They plan to expand their global market success portfolio, focusing on North America and Japan, through close cooperation with the developer.
