HiSonic Strengthens Value Chain Collaboration System to Respond to Large-Scale Orders
HiSonic announced on the 29th that it has recently begun collaboration with multiple domestic companies to enhance research and development (R&D) capabilities and improve product quality for secondary battery components related to its new secondary battery business. HiSonic plans to establish a more stabilized value chain through this collaboration and proactively respond to orders from global cell makers.
According to HiSonic, the companies currently engaged in or discussing collaboration include INT, a process automation specialist, and SCL, an automotive parts specialist.
INT develops and manufactures customized inspection equipment for various fields, including automotive electronic components, and supplies them to clients. HiSonic plans to cooperate with INT in developing inspection equipment for prismatic secondary battery cans and caps.
HiSonic will also strengthen collaboration with SCL in the area of press mold parts. Established in 1977, SCL is an automotive parts specialist company. Based on its long-standing experience, SCL continues to collaborate with various global automakers both domestically and internationally and operates multiple production facilities in Korea and overseas.
Previously, HiSonic jointly developed certain essential components for prismatic secondary batteries, such as safety devices, with SCL. Unlike cylindrical and pouch types, prismatic secondary batteries are known to be more advantageous in preventing fires and explosions by incorporating additional parts like gas vent devices (VENT).
A HiSonic representative explained, “This strengthened collaboration aims not only to enhance the company’s technological competitiveness but also to establish a smooth supply system in preparation for large-scale orders in the future.”
