Kibo Receives Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation for Technology Commercialization Contributions
Recognition of Achievements in Open Innovation Support for Small Enterprises
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 28th that it received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy in recognition of its achievements in supporting open innovation technology for small and medium-sized enterprises at the '2023 Technology Commercialization Merit Award Ceremony' held at The-K Hotel in Seoul.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy annually selects and awards individuals and organizations recognized for their contributions to strengthening the overall industrial technological competitiveness and creating new industries by transferring and commercializing public and private research and development (R&D) outcomes to companies.

Kibo has generated results in technology trust, and since the start of the business in 2019, as of the end of October this year, it has entrusted a total of 1,859 SME patent rights and transferred 265 cases to other companies. Also, Kibo’s technology transaction platform Smart Tech Bridge has expanded the supply technology information from 430,000 to 920,000 cases and significantly increased the number of registered members since its full overhaul in December last year.

Director Lee Jae-pil of Kibo said, "While the public technology transfer market grew 1.7 times over the past 10 years in the technology transaction market, Kibo achieved about 9 times growth in technology transfer brokerage performance," adding, "We will continue to strive to create an ecosystem where SME technologies are traded safely and fairly."
