Gwangjin-gu Recruiting Participants for Elementary Students' Winter Vacation English Camp
Recruitment of 203 Elementary School Students in Grades 4-6 from December 4 to 10 on a First-Come, First-Served Basis

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting elementary school students to participate in the ‘2023 Winter Vacation English Camp’.
The district operates an English camp during the vacation period to reduce the financial burden of overseas language training for students and to provide high-quality educational services through various programs.
The target participants are 203 elementary school students in grades 4 to 6 residing in Gwangjin-gu, and recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gwangjin-gu Office website (Gwangjin-gu Office website - Education - Gwangjin Lifelong Education - Notices).
The recruitment period is from December 4 to 10, and from recruitment to education, the program will be conducted at Konkuk University Language Education Center.
Classes will be held for 10 days from January 11 to 24 next year, divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session runs from 9:30 AM to 12:40 PM, and the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:10 PM.
Selected students will take a placement test to receive customized lessons suited to their level. Native English-speaking teachers from Konkuk University and assistants proficient in English communication will be assigned to provide various activities tailored to students’ levels, covering the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as ▲essay writing ▲brainstorming ▲group activities ▲mission games.
Additionally, after the camp, students can use a video English system for repetitive learning services to help improve their English skills.
Participants will benefit from a discounted fee of 130,000 KRW out of the total 370,000 KRW participation fee, with the remainder supported by the district office. Furthermore, low-income families will be selected within 10% of the total participants and receive full tuition support.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have prepared a vivid English learning program where students learn with native speakers rather than rote memorization,” and added, “We ask for your interest and participation so that children can increase their interest in English and boost their confidence during the vacation.”
