Jin, Gangseo-gu Mayor, Attends Gangseo Residents' Reading Contest Awards Ceremony on the 22nd to Encourage Winners
Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, attended the awards ceremony of the '43rd Gangseo District Residents Reading Contest' held in the district office's underground situation room on the afternoon of the 22nd to encourage the winners.
The district held the reading contest together with the Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association Gangseo Branch (President Go Byeong-ae) to promote the reading culture in the area.
This contest was divided into two categories: book reports and letter writing, and further divided into elementary and middle school divisions and general division, with a total of 120 entries submitted.
At the awards ceremony, a total of 29 people were honored, including 5 Grand Prize winners, 8 Excellence Award winners, 9 Merit Award winners, and 7 Encouragement Award winners.
The Grand Prize in the book report category was awarded to Jeong Jun-woo (5th grade, Naebalsan Elementary School) in the elementary division and Lee Man-hee (Banghwa 1-dong) in the general division.
In the letter writing category, the Grand Prize went to Jeong Da-yul (2nd grade, Naebalsan Elementary School) in the elementary division, Ji Tae-hwan (1st grade, Mapo Middle School) in the middle school division, and Guseong Eun (Ujangsan-dong) in the general division.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "As we enter the digital age, there is a growing tendency to distance ourselves from reading, but the best way to develop thinking and logical skills is by reading books," adding, "We will do our best to create a reading environment where residents can easily access books in their daily lives."
