Incheon City Promotes AI Traffic Services at the 'Republic of Korea Government Expo'
Incheon City will participate in the '2023 Korea Government Expo' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 23rd to the 25th, promoting the Incheon-style artificial intelligence (AI) transportation service.
The expo, jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Digital Platform Government Committee, features the slogan "Government Innovation, Together with the Digital Platform Government" and includes a total of 99 organizations such as central government agencies, local governments, public institutions, and private companies. It is an event to mutually share the achievements of government-wide digital innovation, with exhibition booths, conferences, and side events.
Incheon City, under the theme "Transportation Service, Incheon Leads with AI," will operate an exhibition booth together with Incheon Transit Corporation to introduce the advanced technology-based Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and the case of building robot-friendly advanced services at Bupyeong Station on Incheon Line 1.
They plan to showcase to visitors the smart intersection system based on the collection of various traffic information, digital twin-based traffic situation management, AI signal optimization system, and emergency vehicle priority signal system. This system previously won the Presidential Award at the '2023 Active Administration Best Practices Competition' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety earlier this month.
Incheon Transit Corporation will introduce public service robots (guidance, baking, barista robots) and work-assist robots (wearable, logistics delivery robots) introduced at Bupyeong Station for citizen safety and work efficiency. In particular, the four-legged surveillance and reconnaissance robot (SPOT) can be directly controlled and experienced by visitors.
