Since the first agreement in November 2020, the two parties have collected approximately 157 tons of marine debris, including discarded fishing gear, through cleanup activities. The Clean Ocean volunteer group, composed of POSCO E&C field employees, collaborated with local coast guard stations.
They also held a total of three events, including a marine pollution prevention idea contest and a marine environment conservation photo and poster contest. Educational materials were produced and distributed to education offices to educate youth on the importance of the marine environment.
This year, they are promoting a Blue Carbon campaign to establish salt-tolerant plant communities in Incheon Seaside Park and Buan Julpo Bay mudflats.
