[Tomorrow's Weather] Rain Stops and It Gets Colder... Seoul Morning 1 Degree
Rain Freezing on Roads Causing Black Ice and Frost
Rain in Chungcheong Region Until Dawn, Southern Areas and Jeju Until Morning
On Friday the 10th, after the rain stops, cold air will move southward causing temperatures to drop significantly. There will be places where the rain that fell overnight freezes, creating thin ice on the roads.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th, rain will continue until night in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Yeongseo region. The Chungcheong region will receive around 5mm of rain until early morning on the 10th, the Jeolla and Gyeongsang regions will see about 5 to 40mm until the morning of the 10th, and Jeju Island will get approximately 10 to 50mm of rain.
As of 8 PM, due to the influence of a low-pressure trough, a cloud band formed over the southern West Sea and the South Sea is moving in, causing thunder and lightning in the western coastal areas of Jeonbuk and Jeonnam. The rain cloud band is moving eastward slowly, and from the night of the 9th, rain will expand to the western part of Gyeongnam. The rain cloud band has a line shape, causing large variations in precipitation amounts, with rainfall rates of about 10 to 20mm per hour in affected areas. Some places may experience sleet hail.

Morning temperatures in major areas are forecasted as Seoul 1°C, Incheon 1°C, Suwon 2°C, Daejeon 3°C, Cheongju 4°C, Jeonju 5°C, Gwangju 7°C, Daegu 9°C, Ulsan 11°C, Jeju 12°C, and Busan 13°C. Frost or ice formation is expected mainly in the central inland areas. In northern Gyeonggi, Gangwon Yeongseo, central and northern Chungbuk, and southern inland regions, rain that falls may freeze, causing thin ice on bridges, overpasses, and around tunnels, so drivers should exercise extra caution.
