KOTRA Explores Entry of Korean Companies in the Netherlands, a Hub for European Offshore Wind Power
Participation in Europort 2023 Exhibition in the Netherlands
KOTRA will participate in the Europort 2023 exhibition held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, for four days starting from the 7th, operating a Korean offshore wind power 'promotion seminar' and a 'partnering consultation booth.'
Wind power is the renewable energy source with the highest share in the Netherlands. In particular, the North Sea coastal area of the Netherlands is the center of European offshore wind energy development linked with green hydrogen and underground carbon storage (CCS) infrastructure. New offshore wind farm developments and bids are expected to continue.
The Europort exhibition was held under the themes of 'energy transition' and 'sustainable marine industry' in line with this trend. The exhibition featured 1,000 related companies. KOTRA visited the exhibition to promote Korean companies in the offshore wind power and offshore equipment sectors to leading local companies such as Damen, Royal IHC, and Allseas, and to arrange business consultations.
At the 'Korean Offshore Wind Power Promotion Seminar' held on the special stage at the exhibition hall on the 7th, many local companies attended and showed interest in the domestic offshore wind project supply chain and related technologies. At this event, the Korea Wind Industry Association introduced the 'Current Status and Strengths of the Korean Offshore Wind Industry,' and domestic companies such as Pan Asia and Sidronics conducted technology promotion IR sessions.
