The Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises announced on the 7th that Chairman Choi Jin-sik participated in the Ministry of Environment's 'ByeBye Plastic Challenge.' In the challenge video posted on the Federation's official SNS account that day, Chairman Choi stated, "The 2022 OECD Global Plastic Outlook report warned that unless drastic measures are taken globally, the amount of plastic waste will triple by 2060 compared to now," emphasizing, "It is right and easy to avoid using plastics, which have a recycling rate of less than 10%, whenever possible."
Chairman Choi continued, "I believe that small daily practices accumulate to create great power," adding, "The medium-sized enterprise sector will take the lead in spreading ESG management and an eco-friendly culture throughout the industry."

View original imageThe ByeBye Plastic Challenge is a participatory SNS relay campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment on August 16 to encourage the use of reusable products instead of disposable plastics and to raise environmental awareness. Chairman Choi Jin-sik of the Federation participated after being nominated by Choi Jung-woo, Chairman of POSCO. Chairman Choi nominated Joo Ho-young, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, Kwak Jae-sun, Chairman of KG Group, and Moon Sung-kyu, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, as the next participants in the challenge.
