Secured 725 Million Won in Funds
Deokchon Village Sewer Pipeline Maintenance
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that it has been selected for the '2024 Nakdong River Basin Special Support Public Project.'
The Nakdong River Basin Special Support Project was established by the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office to improve the quality of life for local residents living in water source management areas subject to activity restrictions.
Sancheong-gun applied with the 'Deokchon Village Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project' and was finally selected after a strict evaluation by the judging committee, including on-site investigation, project necessity, and project effectiveness. With this selection, Sancheong-gun secured 725 million KRW from the Nakdong River Basin Fund.
Deokchon Village in Geumseo-myeon has a sewer pipeline running through the village, but due to the lack of drainage facilities, residents have experienced inconveniences such as foul odors.
Accordingly, a total of 1.1 billion KRW, including the basin fund and 375 million KRW in county funds, will be invested to install sewer pipelines and manhole pumping stations for drainage facilities for about 30 households in Deokchon Village.
The project is planned to start construction in February next year and aims for completion in October. Sancheong-gun expects that this project will resolve a long-standing issue for residents and improve the water quality of the water source.
County Governor Lee Seung-hwa said, "This project will greatly help improve the living environment of local residents," and added, "We will continue to promote various projects to support residents, such as increasing income and regional development, through communication with the residents."
Meanwhile, this year, Sancheong-gun is supporting 846 million KRW for Nakdong River Basin resident support projects in Sancheong-eup, Chahwang-myeon, Geumseo-myeon, Sicheon-myeon, Danseong-myeon, and Sinan-myeon.
Next year, the budget will increase by 151 million KRW to 997 million KRW by adding Chahwang-myeon and Saengbiryang-myeon, and will be invested in fields such as income increase projects and welfare promotion projects.
