Diagnosing the Cultural and Arts Education Environments of Korea, China, and Japan
Culture Ministry Holds 'Korea-China-Japan Cultural Arts Education Forum' Today
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service will hold the "Korea-China-Japan Culture and Arts Education Forum" on the afternoon of the 6th at the National Museum of Korea. Under the theme "Culture and Arts Education for Future Generations," the forum will assess the cultural and arts education environments of each country and share major policy cases and current issues.
The first session will discuss the major policy issues and directions of culture and arts education in Korea, China, and Japan. Government officials including Choi Hak-su, Director of Culture and Arts Education at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tao Cheng, Director of Science Education at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, and Shitami Kazunari, Curriculum Investigator at the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan, will present the current status and directions of culture and arts education in their respective countries.
In the following session, academic and field experts will cover detailed topics. Zhang Lei, Director of Dongfang Entertainment Group Co., Ltd. in China, Fukumoto Ginichi, Professor Emeritus at Hyogo University of Education in Japan, and Kim Hye-in, Head of Arts Policy Research at the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute, will discuss the functions and dissemination methods of culture and arts education in future societies. Additionally, Kitayama Atsuyasu, Professor Emeritus at Shizuoka University in Japan, Kim Jae-wan, Research Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University, and Chen Xuehui, Director of China Animation Group, will examine the present and future of youth culture and arts education through various case studies. A comprehensive discussion and Q&A session will be led by Hwang Ha-young, Professor of Children and Youth Theater at Korea National University of Arts.
