[Weather] Cloudy and Rain Nationwide "Strong Winds... Caution Needed for Facility Management"
On Sunday the 5th (tomorrow), the whole country will be mostly cloudy with rain expected. The rain will continue until the 6th and mostly stop by the afternoon, but some areas in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, and northern Chungcheong may experience rain until the early morning of the 7th.
Warm and humid air from the southwest meeting cold air from the northwest will make the atmosphere very unstable, causing rain clouds to develop more strongly. From the night of the 5th until the morning of the day after tomorrow, very heavy rain of 20 to 40 mm per hour accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning is expected.

View original imageThe expected rainfall over two days from the 5th is 30 to 80 mm (with some places exceeding 100 mm) in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, the five western islands, Gangwon Yeongseo, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, the coastal areas of Jeonnam, near Jirisan, northern Gyeongbuk, western Gyeongnam, and the mid-mountain and mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
Rainfall of 20 to 60 mm is forecast for Gangwon Yeongdong, central and southern Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, Gwangju, inland Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, central and eastern Gyeongnam, and the coastal areas of Jeju Island; 10 to 60 mm for Gangwon Yeongdong; and 5 to 40 mm for Daegu, southern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
Since heavy and intense rain will fall during the vulnerable nighttime hours, causing possible damage, special caution should be taken for safety against flooding in low-lying areas.
The morning low temperature is forecast to be between 11 and 18℃, and the daytime high temperature between 17 and 24℃.
From daytime, strong winds are expected in most regions nationwide, raising concerns about secondary damage from facility damage and falling objects such as signboards, so thorough inspection and management of facilities are necessary.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the influence of precipitation.
There will be gusts of wind accompanied by thunder and lightning in most maritime areas, so caution is required to prevent maritime safety accidents. Wave heights will be 0.5 to 3.0 m in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 to 3.5 m in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 2.0 m in the South Sea nearshore.
