Gwangju Nam-gu Installs Round Moon Sculpture at Nodae Mulbit Neighborhood Park
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is promoting a landscape improvement project including the installation of a round moon sculpture at Nodae Mulbit Neighborhood Park, a resting place for residents of the Hyochon district.
On the 3rd, Nam-gu announced, "To ensure the safety of Mulbit Neighborhood Park users and to create a healthy nighttime park culture, we will carry out the landscape improvement project by the end of December," adding, "After the project is completed, you will see a transformed Mulbit Neighborhood Park."
The background for promoting the landscape improvement project at Mulbit Neighborhood Park is that many residents recently expressed anxiety due to the dark walking paths in the park. To provide a safe park environment at night for local residents and nearby shop users, deck walkway line lighting and landscape lighting along the lake, as well as a moon-shaped sculpture, will be installed.
The main facilities to be installed through the landscape improvement project include a round moon-shaped moon sculpture, photo zones, and nighttime lighting on railings.
The moon sculpture will be approximately 5 meters or more in size and will be installed in the center of the lake. Since the moon sculpture will be installed below the walking path on the water surface, the size of the moon sculpture was selected considering the viewing height.
Photo zone landscape lighting will also be erected throughout Nodae Mulbit Neighborhood Park. On the deck stage in front of the lake, other sculptures and LED landscape lighting that harmonize with the large moon sculpture in the center of the lake will be installed.
At the park entrance, LED panel lighting will be installed to indicate that this is Mulbit Neighborhood Park, increasing the recognition of this neighborhood park. Subtle colored inscriptions engraved with a crescent moon and Moonlight Plaza, as well as sparkling safety lights on the deck railings along the walking paths, will also be installed.
Additionally, sunbeds equipped with reading stands will be installed under the shade of trees so that residents can relax leisurely while enjoying the view of the lake park, aiming to create a new popular spot for residents.
