The Digital Local Government Best Practices Competition is an event aimed at discovering and spreading outstanding local cases that have improved public services using digital technology. From September 1 to 15, excellent cases were received from metropolitan and basic local governments, and five institutions passed the preliminary document screening to advance to the final evaluation.
The award-winning "Gyeonggi DdokD Citizen Card" is a service that allows users to easily verify eligibility for discounts at public facilities in the Gyeonggi area (such as residency, senior citizens, multi-child families, and diligent taxpayers) through a mobile app. The official service began in April last year.
This year, Gyeonggi Province expanded the number of facilities utilizing the "Gyeonggi DdokD Citizen Card" from 83 to 579, and launched new services such as the Gyeonggi Province Diligent Taxpayer Mobile Certificate and Multi-child App Card starting in June. These improvements simplified the application and issuance procedures of existing services and enhanced convenience in storage and use, resulting in high satisfaction among both administrative staff and eligible citizens.
Gyeonggi Province also participated in the Resident Participation Expo held at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center as a side event of the "2023 Korea Local Era Expo," promoting the "Gyeonggi DdokD Citizen Card" and attracting significant interest from attendees.
