Gyeonggi Office of Education to Host 'Math Teachers' Gathering' in Yongin on the 4th
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will hold the ‘Gyeonggi Mathematics Teachers’ Festival’ on the 4th at Suji High School in Yongin to strengthen expertise in mathematics education.
Hosted by the Provincial Office of Education and co-organized by the Gyeonggi Secondary Mathematics Education Research Association and Gyeonggi University, the event will feature a special lecture and mathematics sharing sessions presenting research results from 10 provincial and regional education research associations.
The special lecture will be delivered by Professor Jeong Jeyoung of Ewha Womans University, who will present the direction and vision of future mathematics education under the theme ‘Innovation Directions of Future Education in the Era of Digital Transformation.’
The mathematics sharing sessions will be conducted in the form of 14 presentations by school level on topics such as ▲ EduTech classes and records using DESMOS ▲ Creating assessment questions explored through AlgeoMath ▲ Mathematics and music integrated classes using software ▲ Future-oriented mathematics classes utilizing mathematical modeling.
Jo Youngmin, Director of the Convergence Education Policy Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "In the era of artificial intelligence, the role of mathematics as a subject that allows students to enjoy thinking while learning the operating principles based on mathematical thinking is significant," adding, "The Gyeonggi Mathematics Teachers’ Festival, a sharing platform for on-site mathematics teachers, will be the cornerstone."
