Hanwha Ocean announced on the 2nd that it will participate in the 'Thailand D&S (Defense & Security) 2023' exhibition, held for four days starting from the 6th of this month.
The 'Thailand D&S 2023' exhibition features 500 companies from 50 countries and 400 official delegations from 35 countries. It is one of the leading defense exhibitions in the Asian region. Defense companies from South Korea, the United States, Israel, Germany, Hungary, China, and others are participating in this exhibition.
Hanwha Ocean is participating as the only domestic shipbuilding company, exhibiting the 2,000-ton export-type combat ship, the 3,000-ton frigate previously exported to Thailand, the Jangbogo-III 3,000-ton submarine gaining attention in overseas markets, and the future unmanned naval command and control ship.
The reason the 'Thailand D&S 2023' exhibition is attracting attention is due to increasing security demands from neighboring Asian countries amid recent territorial disputes in the South China Sea. In particular, South Korean defense products demonstrate high competitiveness in terms of performance and price compared to European products, making the Asian region, with many developing countries, a market of opportunity.
A Hanwha Ocean official stated, “Hanwha Ocean is actively targeting the Asian market, where security demand is high, and striving to expand its presence in the global maritime defense market. We will leap forward as a ‘Global Ocean Solution Provider’ through unmanned and advanced technologies, as well as securing overseas production bases centered in the United States and Europe.”
