Yoon Kyung-hee, Cheongsong County Governor, Visits National Assembly to Request National Funding for Local Pending Projects
Yoon Kyung-hee, the governor of Cheongsong County in Gyeongbuk, visited the National Assembly on the 24th with senior officials to launch a final all-out effort to secure additional national budget for 2024.

View original imageGovernor Yoon visited the National Assembly ahead of the full-scale budget review by the National Assembly's standing committees and the Budget and Accounts Committee in November, regarding the 2024 government budget proposal submitted by the government. She requested national funding support from National Assembly member Kim Hee-guk to expedite the road improvement project on National Road No. 31, a local priority project.
The National Road No. 31 road improvement project (Cheongsong Jinbo to Yeongyang Ipam, Cheongsong Cheongun to Bunam Gamyeon), included in the 5th Five-Year Plan for National and Local Roads, is a long-standing wish of the Cheongsong region.
In particular, the Cheongsong Cheongun to Bunam Gamyeon section of National Road No. 31 has poor road alignment and narrow road width, making it a high-risk area for traffic accidents. The Cheongsong Jinbo to Yeongyang Ipam section is also experiencing heavy traffic congestion and high accident risk due to increased traffic volume following the opening of the Sangju-Yeongdeok Expressway.
Accordingly, Governor Yoon met with National Assembly member Kim Hee-guk to emphasize the urgency of the project and explain the necessity of national funding support, requesting cooperation for the budget allocation for the National Road No. 31 road improvement project for next year.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “Securing national funding for next year is more difficult than ever, but the National Road No. 31 road improvement project is urgent to reduce traffic congestion and accident risks caused by poor road alignment.” She added, “We will do our utmost to secure additional national funding until the government budget is finalized, for the development of Cheongsong County and the safety and convenience of its residents.”
