Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Holds Confirmation Hearing for Ha In-seong's One-Year Term Extension as Gyeongbuk TP Director
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council's ‘Gyeongbuk Technopark Director Candidate Personnel Hearing Committee (Chairman Lee Chun-woo)’ held a meeting on the 23rd to adopt a progress report on the one-year reappointment of Ha In-seong, the director of Gyeongbuk Technopark whose term ends at the end of this month.
On this day, the Personnel Hearing Committee was composed of 14 members, including 11 members of the Planning and Economy Committee and 3 members recommended by the chairman, in accordance with the ‘Gyeongsangbuk-do Council Personnel Hearing Ordinance’ enacted on September 25. The committee conducted an in-depth verification of candidate Ha In-seong through sharp questions regarding his management performance over the past three years, future job performance plans, and morality.

View original imageThe hearing committee members focused their inquiries on candidate Ha regarding the promotion direction related to the integration of Gyeongbuk TP-Hybrid Parts Research Institute, cooperation and win-win plans with Pohang TP, ESG management strategies for carbon neutrality, comprehensive integrity evaluation, and the functions and roles of specialized centers under Gyeongbuk Technopark.
In particular, concerning the lease use of the Technopark site, they urged for solutions as unfair contracts with Yeungnam University have continued, and also requested measures regarding the institution head’s evaluation being S grade while the institution’s evaluation dropped one level to A grade.
Additionally, they demanded special measures addressing the sharp increase in private contracts during the candidate’s tenure related to service contracts, and criticized the poor performance in intellectual property applications and technology transfers over the past three years, emphasizing the role of Gyeongbuk Technopark as a key institution leading the development of Gyeongbuk’s main industries.
In his final remarks, candidate Ha In-seong said, “I humbly accept the points raised and the requests made by the committee members, and I will do my best to strengthen the expertise of the organization’s members so that Gyeongbuk Technopark can enhance communication with companies and become a specialized institution beyond just a support agency, ensuring smooth support for companies.”

Candidate Ha In-seong was appointed as the director of Gyeongbuk Technopark in November 2020. After his initial two-year term ended, he received a one-year extension in October 2022, and with this second one-year extension, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council conducted the personnel hearing.
