Professor Joseonmi and Childcare Experts Relay Parenting Lectures
Seocho-gu Solves Childcare Concerns with 5 Top Experts... District Holds Weekly Wednesday Parenting Lectures Throughout November to Commemorate 'World Children's Day (November 20)'
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the ‘2023 Second Half Seocho-gu Relay Parenting Lectures’ every Wednesday in November.
To commemorate ‘World Children’s Day,’ the district will host relay lectures every Wednesday throughout November for Seocho-gu parents, focusing on their children’s development, emotions, and characteristics. This relay lecture series was prepared to enhance children’s rights through understanding children and adolescents and to create happy Seocho parents together with their children.
In the first half of the year, a parenting lecture featuring ‘Dr. Oh Eun-young,’ a ‘National Childcare Mentor,’ was held and sold out within two minutes of pre-booking. Encouraged by this response, the district plans to continue the momentum by inviting five experts in child and adolescent psychology and education to hold the second half parenting lectures.
The lectures, held every Wednesday for 90 minutes, will provide parents with an opportunity to share their childcare concerns and find solutions.
First, on December 1, Professor Kim Bung-nyeon from the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Seoul National University Children’s Hospital will give a lecture on brain function changes during puberty and adolescent characteristics. On the 8th, Director Noh Gyu-sik of the Noh Gyu-sik Study Brain Research Institute will lecture on nurturing future talents and learning methods. On the 15th, Professor Cho Sun-mi from the Department of Mental Health at Ajou University will discuss interpersonal relationships with children and resilience to frustration. On the 22nd, Kim Mi-kyung, CEO of MKYU, will give a lecture on healthy communication with children. Finally, on the 29th, Professor Kim Kyung-il from the Department of Psychology at Ajou University will provide a lecture on understanding developmental characteristics.
Residents who wish to participate in the lectures can register on a first-come, first-served basis by scanning the QR code on the poster and submitting a Google Form starting three weeks before each lecture date. For more details, please refer to the Seocho Youth Center website.
