Goryeong Cultural Heritage Keepers Association, 'Jisandong Tumuli World Heritage Listing' Commemorative Plogging Environmental Cleanup Campaign
The Gyeongbuk Goryeong Cultural Heritage Keepers Association conducted a plogging campaign (hiking and environmental cleanup) around the Goryeong Jisandong Tumuli Cluster on October 20th at 5 p.m., with about 20 members in attendance.
Goryeong Cultural Heritage Guardians conducted a flocking cleanup activity at the Jisan-dong Burial Mounds.
View original imageOn this day, to celebrate and commemorate the inscription of the Goryeong Jisandong Tumuli Cluster as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the group engaged in hiking around the tumuli cluster and cleaning the surroundings to promote a clean World Heritage image of the Goryeong Jisandong Tumuli Cluster and to foster a deeper sense of affection for it.
The Goryeong Cultural Heritage Keepers Association was organized in 2006 by local residents who wished to protect and promote cultural heritage. Recognized as a contributor to cultural heritage protection activities, the association received the Governor’s Commendation in the “2021 Gyeongbuk Province Cultural Heritage Field Meritorious Person Awards.” It regularly leads cleanup activities around cultural heritage sites and creates an environment for members and local residents to appreciate and learn about the excellence of regional cultural heritage through study tours and regular training sessions, thereby sustaining continuous interest and dedication to heritage management.
Through these activities, the association widely spreads love and affection for the cultural heritage of Goryeong County and actively promotes the inscription of the Goryeong Jisandong Tumuli Cluster as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
