Ulsan Office of Education Remodels Main Auditorium of Office Building to Improve Accessibility for Disabled Persons
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education recently remodeled the main auditorium of its building.
The Ulsan Office of Education had been using the main auditorium for various educational activities, meetings, and events, but since it was completed in 2004 and 20 years had passed, the ceiling, walls, spectator seats, and floor had deteriorated, leading to construction starting in July.
The office replaced the flooring, wall and ceiling sound-absorbing materials, LED line and square recessed lights in the 728㎡, two-story main auditorium. The entrance doors and 605 spectator seats were also replaced.
The number of seats for people with disabilities was increased from 4 to 11, adding 7 seats, and a gentle ramp was installed at the entrance of the main auditorium on the basement second floor to allow wheelchair access, ensuring no inconvenience for disabled individuals.
The first-floor ramp of the main auditorium, which had raised safety concerns such as slipperiness, was replaced with stairs, and lighting and non-slip flooring were additionally installed.
Safety handrails were installed on both side walls of the second floor of the main auditorium, and the stair width was widened, paying special attention to the safety of users.
