Dwelling Wins 'Excellence Award' at Korea-Latin America Technology and Innovation Forum
Dwelling, a specialized company in smart air quality purification platforms, announced on the 21st that it won the 'Best Startup' award at the Korea-LAC Startup Pitch Day, part of the Korea-LAC Innovation & Trade Forum held in Mexico City, a Korea-Latin America technology and innovation exchange event.
Dwelling received the 'Best Startup' award in the E-mobility & Smart City category at the Korea-LAC Startup Pitch Day, an event planned by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The Korea-LAC Innovation & Trade Forum, a Korea-Latin America technology and innovation forum, was organized by the IDB and the Ministry of Economy and Finance as a cooperation channel for the K-LAC Business Summit, the largest economic exchange event between Korea and Latin America, to strengthen private sector cooperation following the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Latin America.
As a result of competition between eight Korean companies and eight Latin American companies in two categories, Dwelling won the Best Startup award in the E-mobility & Smart City category. The evaluation criteria included innovative technology, business model, global business capability, and product marketability.
GDIN is an institution under the Ministry of Science and ICT that supports the global expansion of Korean startups by collaborating with investment institutions and innovation technology startup incubation organizations worldwide. Since its establishment in September 2013, it has provided over 16,000 consulting services. It has achieved more than 1,000 overseas intellectual property applications, about 800 overseas business contracts and partnerships, and 118 overseas corporation establishments. Following the hosting of two Korea-Latin America startup pitch days in Korea in 2019 and 2022, GDIN held the third event this year in Mexico.
In September, Dwelling also received the 'Innovative Tech Showcase Award' at the global mobile communication technology and industry outlook conference 'M360 APAC,' co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) in Seoul.

Dwelling, known for the 'Green Smart Zone' located on Dosan-daero in Gangnam, signed an agreement in September with Jung-gu, Seoul, for the 'Jung-gu Type Smart Shelter Section Creation and Management Agency Project' to enhance citizen convenience. The 'Smart Shelter' is a transportation convenience facility installed around bus stops. It is designed to prepare for increasingly severe heatwaves, cold waves, and fine dust. Additionally, it is gaining attention as a space where residents can rest safely and comfortably while obtaining useful information in their daily lives.
