Ministry of the Interior and Safety Conducts On-Site Inspections of 'High-Density Crowd Concern Areas' Ahead of Halloween
Lee Han-kyung, Director of the Disaster Safety Management Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, conducted an on-site inspection of crowded areas of concern on the 21st, ahead of Halloween Day. Director Lee visited Ikseon-dong Hanok Street and Seongsu-dong Cafe Street in Seoul, where large crowds are expected to gather on Halloween Day, to check the status of crowd management and overall safety measures.
First, Director Lee visited Ikseon-dong Hanok Street and received a report on safety management measures in preparation for Halloween in Jongno-gu. Ikseon-dong Hanok Street is a popular dating spot for many couples, with cafes and restaurants located along narrow alleys, raising concerns that a sudden influx of people could lead to casualties.

He then visited Seongsu-gu Cafe Street and received a report on safety management measures for Halloween in Seongsu-gu. Seongsu-gu Cafe Street, featuring cafes converted from warehouses and spaces for fashion shows and exhibitions, has recently attracted many visitors. Director Lee stressed the importance of not only crowd management but also thorough fire safety management, as a fire in a warehouse-style cafe could result in large-scale casualties.
