15 Hours Since Captain Went Missing in Tongyeong Galdo Sunken Vessel... Night Search Continues
Gyeongnam Tongyeong Maritime Police Station announced that it will continue the search for the missing captain in his 70s following a fishing boat sinking accident.
According to Tongyeong Maritime Police, at around 3:35 a.m. on the 20th, a 3-ton fishing boat sank near Galdo, Yokji-myeon, Tongyeong City, causing a crew member in his 60s and a captain in his 70s to fall into the water.

The crew member in his 60s was rescued by a fishing boat cooperating with the maritime police, but the captain in his 70s went missing, prompting intensive search efforts by the maritime police and the navy.
Tongyeong Maritime Police dispatched three maritime police aircraft and ten patrol vessels to the scene, and mobilized one navy aircraft, one high-speed boat, and a civilian rescue vessel to find the missing person.

During the search, the maritime police discovered floating objects such as the fishing net buoy from the sunken boat and conducted a detailed search of the surrounding waters to find Captain A. They also deployed maritime police rescue team members for underwater searches but have not yet found him.
The sunken vessel is being located using a diving support vessel equipped with a sonar device.
