Shinhan Investment Corp. and Weiker Join Forces to Develop Open Platform
Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on the 19th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AI startup Weaker to develop a cloud technology-based open platform.
Weaker is a company specialized in building and utilizing a global stock market database based on AI technology. It is leading AI and data technology with exclusive pilot contracts for AI data services with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in the UK.
Shinhan Investment Corp. is preparing an open platform that combines technology and business. Through this MOU with Weaker, it plans to design a technology roadmap, develop business step-by-step, and achieve mutual growth in the global market.
Hwang Gyu-jong, CEO of Weaker, said, "Through the first stage of collecting stock market-related data worldwide, we realized that there are areas of stock market infrastructure underdeveloped by country," adding, "The global stock market infrastructure joint improvement project through Shinhan Investment Corp.'s open platform was an attractive proposal for Weaker, a startup."

Jeon Hyung-sook, head of Shinhan Investment Corp.'s ICT Group, said, "We focused on Weaker's innovation in quickly and accurately database-izing unstructured stock market data with AI and servicing it in a cloud environment," and added, "We plan to build various internal and external service expansion solutions based on global cloud by leveraging the technological strengths of both companies and proceed with modernization of global stock market trading and data infrastructure with Weaker."
