Geumcheon-gu Hosts Multicultural Festival 'Segye Sok Geumcheon Byeolgok'
On the 21st, Various Programs Including World Fairy Tale Experience, Costume Experience, and Multicultural Awareness Improvement OX Quiz Available for Foreign Residents, Multicultural Families, and Local Residents to Participate
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the 2023 Multicultural Festival "Geumcheon Byeolgok in the World" at 1 p.m. on October 21 in the square of the district office.
This event aims to help local residents, both Koreans and foreigners, interact and communicate together, respect cultural diversity, and understand each other. It is organized by the Geumcheon-gu Family Center (Director Jeon Jong-mi).

At the world fairy tale experience booth, participants can engage in making props themed on fairy tales from six countries (Japan - Momotaro, Egypt - The Lion King, Germany - Hansel and Gretel, USA - The Wizard of Oz, Mexico - The Last King of the Toltec Kingdom, Australia - The Magic Wish), such as peach keychains, triangular lamps, symbolic composition toys, hot air balloon flowerpots, cactus frames, and mini wish lamps.
At the world costume experience booth, visitors can try on costumes from China, Japan, and Vietnam. A photo zone is also provided.
Additionally, the “Challenge Quiz Bell,” where participants solve OX questions about various countries’ cultures, will be held to help Korean and foreign residents learn about each other’s cultures.
At 3 p.m., during the commemorative ceremony, awards will be presented to “Model Immigrants” who have contributed to social integration and development of the local community, and certificates will be given to winners of the family photo contest. On the first floor of the district office, visitors can view the entries submitted to the family photo contest “Our Golden Moments.”

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope this will be an opportunity for Korean and foreign residents to understand and communicate with each other’s cultures,” and added, “We will continue to create a community environment where Korean and foreign residents can live together harmoniously.”
