EcoPro Group affiliates EcoPro BM and EcoPro Materials announced on the 18th that they have been certified as '2023 Excellent Companies for Veteran Employment' by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for their achievements in facilitating the smooth social reintegration of veterans.
To commemorate the excellent company certification, EcoPro Materials held a plaque ceremony for excellent veteran employment companies at the EcoPro Pohang Campus in collaboration with the Daegu Regional Veterans Office. EcoPro BM also attended as a representative company at the ‘2023 Veterans Week Ceremony’ held last week at the Seoul aT Center, where it received the certificate and plaque.
EcoPro BM and EcoPro Materials were recognized for their excellent employment environment, employees’ self-development and capacity building, and active job creation, earning the ‘Excellent Company for Veteran Employment’ certification for the first time this year.
EcoPro BM employs a total of 19 veterans, including 7 long-term employees with over 2 years of service and 12 newly hired employees with less than 2 years of service. In April 2022, EcoPro BM signed a business agreement with the Daegu Regional Veterans Office to actively cooperate in discovering job opportunities and supporting employment for veterans with medium- to long-term service to ensure their successful social settlement.
EcoPro Materials also employs a total of 6 veterans, including 2 long-term employees with over 2 years of service and 4 newly hired employees with less than 2 years of service.
Veterans are those who have served in the military for more than 5 years of medium- to long-term service and face difficulties finding jobs in society. The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs supports veterans’ stable livelihoods by facilitating their smooth social reintegration through the Veterans Support Center and promoting veteran employment by companies.
The ‘Excellent Company for Veteran Employment Certification System’ is a program introduced by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in 2015 to encourage companies’ interest in employing and nurturing veterans with medium- to long-term service and to expand employment support for veterans. Certified excellent companies receive benefits such as preferential interest rates on loans from commercial banks for three years after certification, customs inspection deferrals, and additional points in evaluations for selection as excellent companies by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and local governments.
