Suwon City will conduct a joint inspection of scattered dust at construction sites until the 26th.
View original imageThe city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is launching a joint inspection of dust emissions at construction sites.
On the 18th, Suwon City announced that it will conduct a joint inspection of construction sites within the jurisdiction together with four district offices by the 26th to reduce dust emissions.
The inspection targets 14 sites, including those with numerous complaints and large-scale construction sites within the area.
The joint inspection team, consisting of nine city and district officials, will check compliance with various dust emission regulations, including ▲whether there is a report (or change) of dust-related business operations ▲installation and proper operation of dust barriers and dust nets (screens) ▲installation and proper operation of wheel washing and vehicle washing facilities ▲whether stockpiled materials are covered and whether illegal burning of waste near residential environments occurs ▲whether water spraying is carried out on roads used for traffic ▲whether vehicle speed limits within construction sites are observed, among other items.
Minor issues found during the inspection will be corrected on-site or followed up for compliance, while serious violations will be reported and subject to administrative sanctions.

A Suwon City official stated, "We planned the joint inspection to proactively respond during the 5th seasonal management period, when high concentrations of fine dust frequently occur," adding, "We will strive to create a pleasant environment for citizens by continuously reducing dust emissions through ongoing inspections."
