Gangnam-gu and Korea Social Welfare Council Sign Business Agreement to Support Marginalized Local Communities
Emergency Crowdfunding Initiative for At-Risk Households Signed at District Office on 17th, Donation of Profits from Daehan Store -
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) signed a business agreement with the Korea Social Welfare Association (President Kang Dae-seong) at the district office at 3 p.m. on the 17th to support socially marginalized groups in the community.
The Korea Social Welfare Association, headquartered in Gangnam-gu, is a social welfare corporation established in 1954. It currently operates the headquarters, three offices, and 24 facilities, providing comprehensive welfare services for all age groups including infants, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.
Through this agreement, the Korea Social Welfare Association plans to create crowdfunding to provide emergency support for households in crisis within Gangnam-gu’s welfare blind spots. Additionally, the ‘Daehan Store’ operated by the Korea Social Welfare Association will participate in various Gangnam-gu events, expanding cooperation by donating the proceeds from the sale of sponsored goods to the local community.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “It is very meaningful to join hands with the Korea Social Welfare Association, which has walked alongside Korea’s welfare history for nearly 70 years,” and added, “We will strive to ensure that a warm culture of sharing spreads throughout our society through active exchange and cooperation between the two organizations.”
