Simmons' Complex Cultural Space 'Simmons Terrace' Surpasses 1 Million Cumulative Visitors
Simmons announced on the 17th that 'Simmons Terrace,' a complex cultural space located in Moga-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, has surpassed 1 million cumulative visitors five years after its opening.
Opened in September 2018, Simmons Terrace is a complex cultural space that brings together diverse content such as exhibitions, food, cultural events, a museum, and a showroom. It actively engages with the local community and has established itself as a representative attraction of Icheon, promoting the city.
The content presented by Simmons Terrace, combining Simmons' unique sensibility and excellent branding capabilities, has gained nationwide popularity. Shortly after its opening, it became a popular spot for certification photos and a hot place mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). It recorded 100,000 visitors within one year of opening and surpassed 1 million visitors this year, its 5th anniversary. The offline popularity has extended online, with related Instagram hashtags (#SimmonsTerrace) reaching 110,000 posts.
Simmons Terrace has become the main stage for Simmons' 'Socializing' efforts, connecting regions and people, and is gaining attention as a cradle of Simmons' ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives. The 'Farmers Market,' a direct transaction market started in 2018 and held annually, has become a bridge connecting Icheon farms and consumers nationwide. Through the Farmers Market, Simmons promotes Icheon's agricultural specialties while supporting all aspects necessary for sales, including fixture production and display, and significantly reduces the economic burden on participating farms by pre-purchasing a certain amount of agricultural products. Last year's Farmers Market, the first held after the lifting of social distancing, recorded about 4,000 cumulative visitors and approximately 40 million KRW in sales from participating companies over the three days of the event.
The annual Christmas tree and illumination event, which decorates the night sky with a large tree and thousands of ornaments every winter, has gained nationwide popularity and established itself as a representative year-end event of Icheon. This event is part of Simmons' ESG management and was planned as a cultural sharing event for coexistence with local residents and the community as a citizen and neighbor of Icheon. It started in 2018 and is now in its 6th year.
‘PUBLICMARKET,’ a famous food specialty shop from Daejeon located within Simmons Terrace, is popular for its unique menu using local ingredients from the Chungcheong region and Icheon. The menu features dishes made with local agricultural products such as Icheon rice, tomatoes, asparagus, antibiotic-free free-range eggs from Gongju, and organic wild arugula from Yesan.
Additionally, through various spaces such as the brand museum ‘Heritage Alley,’ which tells the story of beds and Simmons, the technology experience space ‘Mattress Lab,’ and the showroom ‘Hotel’ for Simmons’ top collection Beautyrest Black, Simmons offers a broad brand experience covering its philosophy, story, technology, and products.
