Nature Experience Festival Held at Jangsu Park in Yangcheon-gu
On the 21st at 12 PM, the 2nd Yangcheon Green Festival will be held around Jangsu Park to commemorate the reconstruction of green infrastructure
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that, together with the volunteer group ‘Friends of the Park,’ it will restore the green infrastructure in the damaged green areas of Jangsu Park in Sinwol 2-dong, and to commemorate this, it will hold the ‘2nd Yangcheon Green Festival,’ a nature experience festival, on October 21.
Earlier, over a period of six weeks from September to October, more than 40 volunteers called ‘Garden and Vegetable Patch Friends,’ who care for green spaces, directly participated in everything from garden design to planting activities targeting six damaged green spaces within Jangsu Park, creating a variety of themed gardens totaling 37㎡ in size and promoting space improvement.
Under the theme ‘Together, Re-Greening Jangsu Park,’ this festival will use the newly revitalized nature of Jangsu Park as a stage, offering participatory programs, various booths, and performances to create a place for harmony and communication across generations.
Main programs include ▲‘Senior Mini Sports Day’ utilizing the newly renovated exercise facility space exclusively for seniors ▲‘Jangsu Mission Challenge,’ a quiz on hidden plants and animals throughout Jangsu Park ▲‘Friends of the Park’ experience booths such as making lotus seed bracelets and terrariums ▲‘Street Artist,’ drawing pictures on the park floor ▲‘Craft Experience’ using natural materials like natural moss pots and plant stamping ▲food and photo booths ▲and trash picking activities (plogging).
Additionally, the district will present a variety of music performances blending nature and culture, including the traditional Korean fusion band ‘Janwol,’ street dance group ‘Moonz Crew,’ a bubble show, and violinist ‘Jang Han-saem.’
Pre-registration for the Senior Mini Sports Day and Friends of the Park experience booths is underway through the Yangcheon-gu integrated reservation portal, while all other performances and activity booths are open to all residents.
