Jungjingong Invites Indian Officials to Promote Local Investment and Policy Exchange
Introduction to Key Projects such as SME Policy and Startup Academy
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced that it will conduct a policy training program for Indian government officials in Korea over two days starting from the 16th.
This training is a follow-up measure to the policy exchange activation agreement signed in April last year between SBC and Invest India (the agency responsible for foreign investment attraction). The trainees are government officials from Indian ministries such as the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, with a total of 16 participants.
On the first day, the schedule includes visiting the SBC Global Startup Academy to explain the program and introduce resident companies participating in the project. A site tour of startup spaces will also be conducted for benchmarking startup support projects. On the second day, the group will visit D.CAMP, a startup support organization under the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs. Through a meeting with private investment partners and startups aiming to enter the Indian market, they plan to discuss cooperation measures for local market entry in India.
Manmeet K. Nanda, Director of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade at the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said, "We hope that Korea’s startup support policies, along with SBC’s global startup support programs, will be transferred to India. We will further strengthen cooperation projects for small and medium enterprises to facilitate the entry of excellent Korean startups into the Indian market."
