Hwasun-gun Operates 'Pet Zone' During Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival
Expecting Positive Response from Tourists with Pets, A Festival for People and Animals to Enjoy Together!
Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it will operate a pet zone, a playground for companion animals, in the Family Zone (Dogok) at the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival starting on the 20th.
In line with the recent trend of increasing pet ownership, the county has prepared a pet zone of approximately 396㎡ (120 pyeong) in the grassy plaza of the Family Zone in Dogok-myeon, where cosmos flowers, sunflowers, and dolmens harmonize.
In addition, toys and snacks that dogs would enjoy have been provided to enhance the convenience of pet owners, and two safety personnel will be stationed at all times to prepare for any potential safety issues.
However, fierce dog breeds are prohibited from entering the pet zone, and only small dogs accompanied by their guardians are allowed.

A county official said, “There is a high demand these days for complex cultural spaces where people can spend time with their companion animals,” adding, “We expect that operating this pet zone will create a festival atmosphere where humans and animals coexist harmoniously.”
