Guro District Office (Mayor Moon Heon-il) held an inauguration ceremony for the ‘100 Resident Participation Group’ on the 12th to envision the future urban landscape of the district together with its residents.
On the 13th, Guro District announced, “We have formed a 100-member resident participation group to establish a basic urban development plan that resonates with residents and to explore directions for urban space development from various perspectives.”
The resident participation group will set themes by subcommittee and discuss directions and plans for urban development until the 26th of this month. Considering generations, regions, and issues, the group is divided into five subcommittees (Housing, Industry, Culture, Safety, Transportation).
The district will conduct five non-face-to-face workshops by subcommittee and hold a performance sharing session to share the key issues and results presented during the workshops.
Subsequently, to reflect changes and trends in urban space and discuss specific directions for urban planning, a ‘Future City Forum’ is scheduled to be held on the 26th of this month.
Non-experts including residents and administrative officials, along with experts from each subcommittee, will gather to discover policies to solve urban problems and jointly find new approaches for the future city of Guro.
