Ruling and Opposition Parties Unite on Hangul Day: "We Will Care for People's Livelihoods with Aemin Spirit"
On the 9th, marking Hangeul Day, both ruling and opposition parties unanimously pledged to remember King Sejong the Great's spirit of caring for the people and to look after the public's livelihood.

View original imageYoo Sang-beom, the chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, said in a statement that "Above all, the greatness of Hangeul lies in the fact that it was created based on King Sejong the Great's noble heart, who tirelessly cared for the lives of the people day and night and sought to listen directly to their voices," adding, "On this Hangeul Day, we reflect once again on the historical mission bestowed upon Hangeul, which carries the meaning of listening correctly to the people's voices and caring for their livelihood."
He continued, "The People Power Party will recall King Sejong the Great's spirit of caring for the people to look after their livelihood and bring hope to the citizens," and added, "We will also do our best to ensure that the Republic of Korea can play a leading role economically and culturally together with the Yoon Suk-yeol administration."
Kang Seon-woo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, also said on the same day, "Our proud Hangeul is recognized worldwide as a vanguard leading the Korean Wave," and "We reflect on King Sejong the Great's spirit of caring for the people, who wished for the people to freely express their thoughts and words through an easy-to-learn script."

She added, "When the people's livelihood takes precedence over political strife, politics can develop further through humility and consideration rather than greed and obstinacy," emphasizing, "We will stand with the people with right words, dignity, and a leading attitude."
