Earlier, on the 4th, a post from a soldier appeared on the military-related Facebook page 'Delivered on behalf of the Army Training Center.'
Introducing himself as an active-duty army sergeant nearing discharge, soldier A said, "This happened two months ago at Brown Stone Paikdabang in Nowon Junggye," and added, "After choosing my menu, picking up the drink, and coming home, I found something written on the drink cup."
While about to drink at home, A discovered the phrase "Thank you for protecting our country" written on the plastic lid.
He said, "As a soldier of the Republic of Korea Army, I received words of thanks from someone," and "I realized the world is still vast and warm."
He continued, "I was comforted by a single sentence," and "There have been many heartbreaking incidents recently as a soldier, but there are still many people with warm hearts in the world. I wish all soldiers a safe discharge."
The employee who wrote the message on the drink cup was a woman in her 20s working part-time, who is known to have recently quit the cafe job.
