Early Voting Turnout 8.48% on First Day of Gangseo-gu Mayor By-election
3%p Increase Compared to By-Elections in the First Half of the Year
The early voting turnout on the first day of the by-election for the Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, was recorded at 8.48%.
According to the Election Commission on the 6th, by 6 p.m. that day, 42,429 out of 500,603 registered voters participated in the voting. Jin Gyo-hoon, the Democratic Party candidate, and Kim Tae-woo, the People Power Party candidate, also took part in early voting.
This turnout rate is higher than that of the previous by-election. The early voting turnout on the first day of the 4th and 5th by-elections was 5.11%, with the overall early voting turnout at 11.01%. The total turnout including the main election was 27.2%.

Early voting for the Gangseo-gu mayoral by-election will continue from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 7th, and early voting stations will be operated only within Gangseo-gu.
