Yeongdeungpo-gu 'Green Space Management Volunteer Corps' Launched
Operation for 3 months from mid-September, currently 44 participants managing green spaces... Additional volunteers recruited until October 13... Apply at Dong Community Center, selected by each Dong chief
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it is operating a 'Green Space Management Volunteer Corps' to create a pleasant green environment.
The Green Space Management Volunteer Corps, conducted for the first time this year, is made up of voluntary participation from residents. Residents take the lead in managing green spaces centered around their living areas and maintaining the street environment.
The Green Space Management Volunteer Corps will operate for three months starting from mid-September, with 3 to 4 participants per neighborhood. Volunteer hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., flexibly operated within 18 days per month and 4 hours per day.
Currently, a total of 44 volunteers are carrying out overall green space management activities such as environmental cleanup and green zone monitoring, and the district provides a certain amount of activity expenses to facilitate smooth volunteer work.
Additionally, the district is recruiting more green space management volunteers until October 13. Residents born between 1943 and 1970 who are interested in green spaces and volunteer activities can apply at their local community service center. After application, each neighborhood chief selects and manages the volunteers.
The district expects that the Green Space Management Volunteer Corps will contribute to sharing a sense of ownership and local attachment to green spaces and establishing a sustainable green space management culture.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We thank the residents who practice positive influence with love for the community.
