Cookie Run, Running Worldwide, Earned 1 Trillion KRW in Revenue from IP
DevSisters announced on the 4th that the global cumulative revenue of the Cookie Run intellectual property (IP) has reached 1 trillion KRW.
The Cookie Run IP has rapidly grown over the past decade, primarily through mobile games since the domestic launch of "Cookie Run for Kakao" in 2013. It has secured service in 243 countries and over 200 million cumulative users.
The influence of the IP expanded significantly with the revenue growth of "Cookie Run: OvenBreak" in 2020 and the domestic and international success of "Cookie Run: Kingdom" in 2021. Alongside games, the foundation for one-source multi-use has broadened to include goods, publishing, licensing, and partnerships.
Since entering overseas markets through "Line Cookie Run" in 2014, the Cookie Run IP has steadily strengthened its global competitiveness. By directly servicing "Cookie Run: OvenBreak" globally, it grew mainly in Asian regions such as Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand. Through "Cookie Run: Kingdom"'s entry into the U.S. market, the scope expanded to Western countries including the U.S., Germany, the U.K., and Canada. As of the recent period from January last year to July this year, overseas revenue accounts for 55%.
DevSisters continues to expand the base of Cookie Run games and IP through the launch of "Cookie Run: Kingdom" in China. "Cookie Run: Kingdom" completed its second test on the 23rd of last month and currently has over 3 million pre-registrations.
Upcoming games under development include "Cookie Run: Tower of Adventure" (casual cooperative action), which plans to participate in G-STAR 2023 this November through the Google Play booth, as well as "Cookie Run: Witch's Castle" (puzzle adventure) and "Cookie Run: Oven Smash" (real-time battle).
