Middle School Student Walking Dog in Geoje Hit and Killed by Car
At around 10:03 PM on the 2nd, a middle school student crossing a crosswalk in Deokpo-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, was hit by a vehicle and died.
According to Geoje Police Station on the 3rd, A, who was returning home after taking a walk with his pet dog, was hit by a small passenger car driven by a man in his 60s, B, at the Deokpo-dong Samgeori crosswalk.
A was taken to the hospital immediately after the accident but ultimately passed away.
The driver, B, was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and reportedly stated during the police investigation that he did not see the pedestrian due to the darkness.
